    Default Quilting Quickly

I love the new magazine. I have now completed 3 quilts from the Spring 2013 issue. Now, I do put my own ideas to them. Here is the one called "Piece Out" - I wanted to learn something new so I created this one. My long arm quilter decided swirls would look good on the backing as well as the front. Also, recommended that I use the backing for the binding and I think it turned out perfectly. Now, I got all the materials from my "stash" including the backing. I was about 15 inches x 20 inches short with the backing material. I had made two extra blocks from the front (to learn how to do them) and sooooo...I put them in middle of the backing. Poor long armer said she kept crawling underneath to make sure everything was straight. She did a beautiful job. Learned "a lot" about the blocks AND hand-binding folding over the backing to the front....whew...am pleased with it.

Great quilt! That is a dedicated long armer to crawl under the frame. You should mention that QB members use a car mechanics mirror on a wand to check the under side of their quilts.

I've made that first one twice. Used a Christmas Jelly roll and made a quilt for myself as well as two pillows for my living room couch. Such an easy pattern that I also made it as a wedding gift using dark batik fabric for my niece.
