I was privileged to take a class with Doreen and she was, indeed, hilarious! So glad she came into my life. Every time I see the fabric I used in her class, I think of her.

Hi, everyone, this post inspired my transformation from a lurker to a member! I enjoyed reading your comments about Doreen. She is my cousin, our moms were sisters so our families were with each other quite a lot. My plan was to take lessons from her after I retired, but, alas, she didn't wait for me. So now I'm learning from all of you!

I don't know who this special lady is (was)! I will look on YouTube videos to see if she has any postings.

Oh..... I remember peaky and spike but didn't remember the ladies name......sorry.

And yes to a like button!

I learned so much from her book, "Pattern Play."

It is one of my favorite books!

Thanks so much for the laugh! She was a special lady. Too bad I never got to take a class with her.

I never got to take a class with her either, but I have her Peaky and Spike templates. I like the quote! About 10 years ago her daughter displayed some of her quilts here and was selling them. I was so tempted to buy one as a remembrance but unfortunately they were quite pricey.

Hello JoynMN! How nice to hear that you are now a part of this wonderful community! And hopefully you share your quilting adventures with us....I leaned a lot from your Aunt, but never had the good fortune of meeting her in person. Always enjoyed her sense of humor!

That is something that many of us should take seriously. I shall. Starting now!
