A notebook and pencil for writing down names, addresses, and email address, of new friends that you may meet at the retreat.

When I attended my first retreat I took enough projects for two weeks of sewing! I have since learned to trim it down to a more realistic number. I think it helps to have everyting cut out before going as there are usually many people sharing a few large cutting areas. And sharing some of the supplies with a friend is a good idea so each of you has less to pack. Thanks for putting this list together.

I've been to lots and lots of retreats and I'd leave about half of that stuff at home. You most definitely don't need perfume, nail polish or nail polish remover. Unless of course you're using a retreat as a way to step out on your husband like one person did at a retreat. You can probably leave the toilet paper at home. They generally have that everywhere nowadays.

Chances are high you won't use an iron or ironing board that you bring either. Most spaces limit the number of irons that can be plugged in and the people putting on the retreat generally supply irons, ironing boards and large cutting mats. It's best to ask the retreat hostess if you should bring these things.

It works out really well to have each project ready to sew before you get there. Pack the supplies for each project with the project and you'll cut down on the amount of stuff you have to lug.

Great list. It's better to have these things with you. You can only do so much prepping at home.

Thank you so much for posting this. I am going on my first retreat this weekend (I'm so excited can hardly sleep) and the list will come in very handy. We were given a list, but this one is much more comprehensive. I'll share it with a few of the ladies in our group that are going together and take it with me for others going to future retreats. This board rocks!!!
