I've done it, leaving extra long "tails" on the top of the bottom section, and bottom of the top. I then trimmed to an inch or so, folded in half, then folded again and sewed down by hand. The back and front seams were done so one was higher up than the other, since it was hand quilted.

Quiltykitty, I am not far from you. I live on the OK side of Texoma 3 miles south of the Old Texoma Lodge. I do most of my shoping in Denison and Sherman. Kacy

Hi. Xapisgrace, my youngest son and his family live in Keller so I get to come down to your area every now and then. It didn't take me long to find the quilt shop in Keller. LOL Kacy

Especially since it's for a mini-quilt exchange. It will only be about 18" x 24" so weight isn't really a problem.
yes it came out fine - my quilting stitches were kinda small because i had such a hard time moving the quilt around but thats the only bad thing i could say.

you should be completely fine considering the size of your quilt.

Do you by any chance live in Oak Ridge? I sure do miss Texoma Lodge. We used to go to those mystery weekends they did. One was around Valentine's Day. Really good. I hate to see all that resort just sitting and deteriorating.

Have you been to these quilt shops?
Pass Times in Gainesville
Kaleidoscope in Whitesboro
Alford Inn in Van Alstyne

Hi. No I don't live in Oakridge, I live on Alberta Creek Rd which is 3 miles south of the old lodge. We miss the state park also. Such a shame that is for sure. I gave been to Pass Times in Gainesville a few times and do a lot of shopping at Kaleidoscope in Whitesboro. I have not been to the Alford Inn yet. There is also a nice pretty good size quilt shop in Durant I believe they go by HNT quilt shop now. They changed from hearts in twined. I really like all the shops around this area.
