I love your "rug." It is beautiful. One of the quilt shops I went to....can't remember where....had quilts on the floor as rugs. They said they had grown tired of washing rugs and much preferred to wash quilts. They looked great in their shop.

I love it.....it goes so well with your furniture. Does it need the rug underneath?? Or are you looking for non-skid??....that stuff comes in lots of sizes.

Assuming that you will want to wash it every now and again, do you really want or need to sew rubberized backing to it? If the current method of layering it over an old rug is working, don't mess with it. I think it's a great idea. And most people in our area take their shoes off on entering a home, so if that's a habit you follow, I don't think the rug/quilt will suffer too much.

Love the look! Tell me more please. What fabric is it ? Quilter's cotton? Is it finished with batting and backing? Bound?
What pattern? Very interesting concept. Thanks for sharing

Does anyone who where to find the instructions for making this beautiful rug? Just what I need to make to fit my decor...impossible to find the right color scheme in a "ready made" rug. Any
help would be appreciated, thanks!

That is a beautiful rug. I like it how you have it displayed over the old rug, they look good together and all look great with the furniture. The way you are using the rug, it shouldn't get much wear, if any so should last and look nice for a long time.
I bought some upholstery fabric at Hobby Lobby about a month ago to make me an area rug just don't know where ot use it once it is finished.

When I had visitors I put a quilt on the floor to look homely. When they went picked it up and put it on the back of the sofa. Why you ask. Well my dogs thought it was put on the floor for skating on. They would do running jumps on it to slide across the wooden floor , so the game got stopped after visitors went. They were not in the room for sliding while visitor was.

Be sure to check and see if its ok to put non-skid material under it. I was told not to use any rugs on my laminate floor that have a non skid backing
