Several years ago there was a quilt show on the pier in NYC. A special exhibit was "Memories of Childhood" I wanted to make one titled "Old Harry Woodfork Will Get You" But was talked out of it because I was told memories of childhood should be hapy memories. I was vinticated when I got to the show to see quilts with titles "Boogers Under the Bed"; Aligators in the Basement" I was delighted. Old Harry Woodfork was the mythical being that lived in the cedar patch at my grandparants farm. My grandmother would always threaten us kids with the fear he would get us if we didn't behave.
So, use your imagination. It can be fun.

That would have been a great exhibit to see! I agree - you should have made that quilt. It would have been fun!

It's not too late, make it now!I have made a few that have been thought of as "a bit on the dark side" but I love em, and the people who really know me just smile & say, yup, looks like something you would make" lol

I've seen some stark designs due to illness and other things. Still beautiful in their statements.

Quilting is an art, and not all art is about happy little trees! Make what your heart speaks and you'll never go wrong.
