Quilts for Japan

There are ways to help Japan besides sending money. :)

I'm really excited about the sock project and they are making a huge difference already. The office spearheading the effort is personally delivering everything to people who need the socks. Just wanted to throw this idea out there if anyone is interested!

Quilts for Japan
Please see below today's announcement from Lapel Stick -they have set up a web page with a downloadable label and many links to assist quilters to do what they do best - provide comfort to those in need by donating quilts - and you can send in photos of yourself and/or your donation quilts to be posted to the website.
Lapel Stick
We are very excited to share our new resource page for Quilters wanting to make and donate Quilts for Japan. The page includes a free quilting label that has been translated in Japanese that you can add to any quilt you are donating. The page and downloadable label are at: http://www.lapelstick.com/quilts-for-japan
Also note that from the LapelStick website there is a link to quiltsforjapan.ca which is actually collecting quilts for shipment to Japan (as well as US links). So now you know how to label quilts for Japan and where to send them.
Note that the labels are available in Japanese only, as well as English and Japanese for Canadian, US and International quilters, so everyone will be able to print a label suitable to their location.
And, if you are unfamiliar with LapelStick,it is new Fabric Glue Stick - a non-toxic biodegradable temporary adhesive which does not stain fabric, washes out and does not gum up our needle when you sew through it. This company has been most generous to donate web space to make this happen.
