I use quilts for tablecloths all the time. I f I am worried about a spill I remove the tablecloth before eating. I agree with other who said it is made to be loved.

I have glass on my kitchen table. It is 1/4" plate glass and is really heavy. I have glass on some smaller end tables and they are not going anywhere either. I don't think the glass is going to slide much.

I am making a quilt now to use as a tablecloth. I am putting very thin polyester batting in it. I am going to use it and wash it just like I do all the placemats I have made.

I agree with Tartan.... get some clear plastic sticky dots, stick on the bottom of the glass, it won't go anywhere.

I have done this also and it works really well. Also, I have a friend who uses quilts as tablecloths and puts the plates on placemats.

Could you screw a curtain track or some plastic under the table which will go up the edge all round or at certain places. You can get brown.

So, what did you decide?? How about a picture....we LOVE photos!!
I used to have a dining room till I got a grand baby in the house, sometimes I used a quilt for a table covering, but only for show so I didn't need glass or plastic.

Have you considered acrylic. It's a lot less expensive then glass and if it moves a little it won't matter. I don't know if it comes that large but I had a piece cut for a trunk and I like it better then glass. I have glass on some tables and it does slide plus it's heavy when you want to move it to clean. I have the little clear pads under it and they look like they're melting. The little round felt pieces worked better but then they were noticeable.

The glass company may be able to put the little clear bumper pads on the glass for you for a reasonable price, too. You could ask them.
