Insteaad of glass, which is way too heavy to lift off the table and clean under--and it will get spills and crumbs under it--get plexiglass, which is lighter, just as clear and just as protective. It might scratch a little more easily than glass, but not much more.
If I were you, I would use clear plastic. You can cut it to get the overlap you want on your round table. froggyintexas

i would say the little dots as well. however, if you have a trivet in the center for salt and pepper, or a decorative bowl, you should have no trouble. i have one, flannel backed, no batting, on my wooden table, hangs down 6 inches all around, no problems with it. i dont how how different glass is tho.

I wonder if putting starch in the rinse cycle would help not set stains? No batting quilts make great tableclothes because of their weight. Also, when the blocks are placed so a seam lands on the edges, they stay put real well. Finger press that seam once on table to help with sliding. Some put in the center between the table and quilt a spongy shelf line and once the centerpiece is in place, no slip sliding away. Also, learn your stain remedies. Peroxide for blood, etc., (google) and treat before put in dryer. Making your own tablecloths, even without quilting are easy and higher quality than you can buy. Merely have your top one solid top and the bottom flannel and quilt away. Green or red with gold and silver thread --- beautiful for holidays.
