the story was wonderful....I live in Hattiesburg MS, down the south end of town is Camp Shelby where the troops come here first before leaving for Iraq. I know someone that works there and I have collected candy for the soliders that stand in line to be processed and have made 3 quilts and quilted 2 more and have given them to wounded Mississippi soliders. It warms my heart to do something for them that give so much for me, someone they will never meet. I always write a special thank you label to them and sew to the back of the quilt. I do my quilts in red, white and blues, of course, and make them queen size. Here's hoping someone else will make quilts for the men and women that do so much.
God Bless America and God Bless our Troops !!!

Wonderful story.
Our little group made Quilts of Valor for a while but the mailing of the quilt back and forth was so expensive that we finally contacted the local VA hospital and now make and deliver our quilts to the wounded soldiers who live locally. It is a memorable expierience to meet these brave men who gave so much. Sometimes it is the familly instead but still a wonderful expierience.

The web site is a good one if you go to Patchesfabrics.com go into philanthropy and click on the Operation Mend UCLA you will see the other side of what is done. Good for you for doing your best for our troops. Retired Lt Col. Pat Taylor has a big smile on her face when she read this.
