Alot of groups donate quilts to the injured and KIA families. So i figured they were covered by lots of loving and generous quilters..
when my son was on the front lines, he asked for a quilt.
(said he wanted to be wrapped in his moms arms and night)
so i started by making him one and it snowballed to others in his group/flight/platoon,whatever you call them..both of his deployments, i made quilts, although with the second deployment, he wanted one in fleece..with the help of fellow quilter friends here at home.
There is a group that i know of that does the same thing..
"QWL"-Quilts with Love program. They tie alot of them.
but a wonderful thing to do..the pictures he took of his little room and bed, looked a little like home!
bless all the people that are able to help out in this ways and other ways too! thanks for sharing the link!
sorry the picture is so small..he is holding the corner of his quilt up..

Thanks for the link. My nephew is in Afghanistan and we worry about him constantly. He requested a fleece blanket. I sent him one I made with camo fleece and I embroidered an outline of the state of Texas and put his monogram in the center. He loves it, but I think I'll make him a quilt too.

the fleece one i made, i put a 12 "pocket/flap" in the bottom to put his feet in! i also made him a 3 pillow cases to match..out of fleece..he said the laundry goes out and may not come back for a week or two..

As the mother of a military.... I say thank you to all for the great job they do to prepare our wounded for comfort. Thank you so much for sharing these pictures. It brings both tears and pride to this proud mom.
