Have seen a few photos of quilts done with more white than usual and am liking them, the white in them combined with the vintage type fabric is very nice. Now I am going to have to pick up some nice quality white fabric. Always getting ideas from the this site!

I agree. I feel like I can breathe with these quilts with lots of white.

Me, too. I want to do a 30's repo with white. Already have the fabric. :)

I love to use white, plain or tone on tone.
A good one it you don't want a stark white is Kona Snow.
It's just slightly off white and is great with all fabrics but especially with 30's fabrics.
You can get it at Handcocks of Paducka for $3.98 a yard.

Where can I find solid color fabric either Moda Basics or something similar for a reasonable price....not the whites but colors like reds, turquoise, etc.?

I prefer the tone-on-tone to the solid white fabrics.
They add a lot of interest to the finished block.
Also prefer the off white tone-on-tones for scrappy quilts.
