You should be able to go into the profile section of this group and change the emails to only ones coming from the moderator...
I had the same thing happen to me on a group that I joined

You can change your email to none, special notices only or weekly/daily digest. Go into the area where you edit the group information. Can't remember exactly where to find it but it's there.

You can edit your membership. To do this, go to http://groups.yahoo.com and sign in with your Yahoo! ID and your password. If you can't remember your password, they will email it to you. If you can't remember your Yahoo! ID, post to the group and ask someone who reads the posts on the web to email it to you (Your Yahoo! ID shows up next to your post on the web).

Once you have logged in to your group, look above where it says "edit membership" (kind of small letters in light blue). Click on that. Scroll down to your options for messages. You can change to daily digest (all posts bundled into a single long email approximately every day) or -- my favorite -- special notices only. I just log in to http://groups.yahoo.com to view the posts in my groups.

Some groups don't allow you to select just the special notices, those are the ones I just block the emails from my email box so they dont' show up and I read them online at my convenience . It's silly for any group to not let you have a choice when it's so easy to do it the way you want anyway.

When you join a yahoo group, you select how you want to read the postings. Either one post at a time in email, all of the day's posting in one email, or only get email when an announcement is made to the group or no emails if that is an option. Yahoo quilting groups are really nice.

You signed up for 'QuiltvilleChat' group. If you want you can go to the Yahoo section for your groups and change your e-mail selection to Daily Digest or Special Notice. Or you can sign up for 'Quiltville' group which will only send you e-mail from Bonnie. The chat group is very chatty and somewhat redundant and does not trim posts. I did subscribe to that one until I found the other. I keep it in my Yahoo groups in case I have a problem, but way to much for me to read and way to repeptitive.
