Default Walmart magazine discount?

I went in to buy my quilt magazine and no more discount on books and magazines. I guess it's gone the same way as the full service fabric department. I will be buying it elsewhere if they are no longer giving a discount.

I noticed there was no discount on a quilt magazine last time I purchased one at Walmart, so I no longer buy magazines there. Fleet Farm still discounts magazines, as does Sam's Club, so I try to shop there instead.

I was surprised to notice that this week, too. It's been a while since I bought a magazine so I don't know when it changed but now I'll just buy magazines at Chapters when I want them. Too bad Costco doesn't have quilting magazines!

WM quit the 10% discount like a year or so ago. I quit buying there when I found out, now I purchase mine at Joann's. I read an article that said WM says peeps will buy them anyway without the discount, so they are money ahead.

Maybe we should start a campaign (sp) for Costco to sell quilt magazines. We don't have a Sam's club here.

My Walmart doesn't discount magazines either, but we still have a full service fabric department. Most of the fabrics they offer are the same as the ones priced much higher at Joannes!! Many times I get it cheaper here than I can with the 40% off coupon. Just made a great buy on the clearance fabrics!! Due to the imminent inventory I paid 50% off the clearance price at my local Walmart..So much for the goal of getting the stash down!!

A sign of the times? I was surprised the last one I bought was not discounted, although, honestly, I buy them wherever I am if I want one. I do not buy a whole lot.

I never buy the magazines anywhere so didn't know they didn't discount, but the books are still discounted here. Or at least they were last week when I bought one. If I have to pay full price for my books I will just order for my Kindle. Much easier, less tree needed for paper and a lot less storage space needed!
