Interesting concept. I've only known of using the red overhead projector sheets as aids to reading for dyslexics.

I find it easier to sort lights and darks via the camera/photoshop method. The red glasses method just doesn't work as well for me.

Same here Peckish. I use my little camera then like you photoshop. Never liked the red glasses, they just don't work for me.

I use a red and green sheet protector. Works just as well and is a lot cheaper.

I use both the Ruby Beholder and red glasses. The glasses are great, leaving my hands free to move the pieces around on the design wall.

Totally agree! I have the glasses (special from MSQC, too) and use them when I remember! Just a bit of nonsense...to keep life fun! But I never thought of using my cell phone on black and white. Have to check that out. I have put fabrics on the photocopier and get a greyscale that way. Depends on what you want.

I am another person who snaps a picture and then changes it to black and white. It's so easy to see that way!

I use my Ruby Viewer with most of my quits, but I am a scrappy fan I and seek to have a good balance of light, medium, dark in the arrangement of my blocks. I had it in a stash from someone else for years and did not know what it was for but Ta-Da! It is one of several really useful tools in my work basket.

I have them also, bought them when they were a daily special at MSQC, they work really well and are very helpful when shopping fabric, really helps with the color values.

I take a picture with my phone and then use the B&W filter to check for the values. Simple and quick.
