Question Civil War Repro-Quality and Low Cost

I noticed on the Connecting Threads website their Civil War repro fabric is mostly under $5.00/yd, is it of good quality like at the LQS?

What about fabrics by Windham and Bluehill?

I found a website Nauvoo Quilt and Textile and their Civil War repro was around the $5/yd range also but I do not know anything about the site.

Thanks,
Pat

No, it's not LQS quality. But, if you're not making an heirloom you may be happy with it. I don't order it anymore. I can get LQS fabric on sale locally or online at Thousands of Bolts etc. for the same price and better quality.

With every brand you will have the best quality and the not so hot quality..
Ive seen see-thru LQS fabric .. Just because it came from an LQS does not mean its top notch quality as well..

Pat,
A closer look at Nauvoo's site will reveal that their prices are for 1/2 yards, not full yards.
Also, as far as i saw, their fabrics are regular, well-known LQS quality brands.

I plan to make bed pillow cases with the Civil War fabric so it needs to be soft. I recently made cases from 1930's repro from Moda and its wonderful to the touch. That is why I am leary of the lower cost fabric.
