I'm a new quilter and new to this board. I've been looking at all the posts, pictures and avatars and was wondering: "Do i need to get a cat or a dog to be a truly successful quilter?"

Only if you want your quilts to be inspected and approved by the best.

NO! Keep 'em out! LOL...just kidding. I trip over mine regularly and am constantly complaining about their hair...but they are good company and always get excited about my projects.

I have 5 dogs and 1 cat. They have not helped my quilting skills, but they do make me smile:)

No, I don't think so. My dog is such good company to me I don't think I could get through the day without him. If someone was spying on me they would think I was having a conversation with another person the way I chat with him.
