    Default Rescued

While out going to yard/garage sales yesterday, I stopped by a nearby Salvation Army thrift store. Saw a couple of small quilts lying on a table. When I examined them, I found Project Linus labels sewn on them. I was saddened to think of the effort & $ someone lovingly put into these and then to find them in a thrift store. I snatched up both of them (they appeared to never have been used or washed) for $6 each. Both were tied--one with yarn and the other with floss. I'd like to use that tying as basting and machine quilt them.

Would it be appropriate for me to then donate them to my guild's comfort quilt project? Should I leave the Project Linus labels on them or remove them?

I would probably leave the label on them and donate as comfort quilts or to children in needy situations. (I'm thinking that if I had made them, that would make me very happy!)

I think it would be fine to donate them to your guild's project, but I would take the Project Linus label off.

I would also remove the project linus labels.

It does make one think twice about doing donation quilts.

Ditto what Marymm stated. Photos of before (if you still can) and after, please!

Consider that they may have been made by someone who didn't get them donated before dying, or moving to assisted living, or whatever, and they may have been sent to Salvation Army by family or whomever was "clearing the house".

Re-gifting is the way to go, for sure.

i'm with the camp of leaving the labels on... the reason is that PL often sends out kits to quilters, so they should get the credit.
