My sister and I have searched online and called Paducah hotels without any vacancies for 2012. How does one obtain a reservation; Is there a tent city somewhere?

I am staying in Metropolis, IL. It's only about 5 miles from Paducah across the river. I got reservations about 2 weeks ago at the Super 8 but it was super expensive.....but I want to go!

Most people make reservations for the following year as they are leaving the current one. It is booked up for months. You can find other places to stay that aren't really that far away.

Good luck.

I go every year to Paducah but I don't make reservations until about a month before the show. I've never not gotten one but I pick motels that are 20-30 miles away. I drive so that isn't a problem for me. And the rooms are 1/2 the cost the Paducah places are. And just getting a one bed room makes it easier. I go alone to quilt shows. I learned my lesson about taking someone and definitively no family members. LOL

I'm not going this year. I plan to go to Nashville and Houston shows next year. Better get all our wants in by Dec. 2012. LOL.

Try looking in places like Princeton, Eddyville, Marion, or Kuttawa because they are all about a 30-45 minute drive max and have lots of charm all by themselves. Plus probably cheaper. I know that the lake area has lots of nice places.

Check the Land Between the Lakes - there are several discount chain hotels there!

I'm from NY. I'm assuming from what I've read that there is some sort of show in Paducah. What kind, and when?
