Default Rotary Cutter Question

My rotary cutter blade tightens up and will not roll as I am trying to cut. I changed the blade a couple of times. Anyone know what it wrong?

Maybe the washers are not in the right place when screwing the screw in to hold the blade in place.

At least with Olfa, the washer must be placed right before the washer so that the washer makes a tent against the body of the cutter. I don't know if I am explaining it right.

Google changing a rotary cutter blade and you get an Olfa video.

Good to know about the video. I forget how it was put together immediately after taking it apart! Old age setting in?

I got what I thought was a good deal on an off-brand rotary cutter. The bladed wouldn't turn no matter which way I put the washer in. Into the trash can it went.

Does it need a drop of oil?

Oh, I LOVE this board! I'm not the only quilter with memory burps! My solution- the next time I bought a package of blades (Olfa), I cut the diagram off the pkg and taped it to my wall!

Great idea--I have had that happen to me more than once...only to find I had my washer/nut on wrong--not to mention a few times with more than one blade!
