Default Rotary cutter Safety gadget under $15.

Omnigrid now has what looks like a large telephone receiver that has suction cups on it that LOCK
onto large and midsize rulers to prevent you from slicing your fingers. It is 12 inches long and holds
your ruler steady and keeps you fingers on your opposite cutter hand out of harms way.

I got one at Jo Ann fabrics for under $8 last week with a coupon (reg price was $14) .

I'm making a quilt for a wounded warrior and its attached to my 6x24 ruler right now--used it
yesterday-- Love it-- Also bought one for my sister who has limited vision.

I also got the Dritz clear fabric grippers and put them on the back of my rulers. They WORK.

I always worry about cutting my fingers with the rotary cutter. could be bad. I am going to check that out. Can you easily move from one ruler to another?

Yes Michelle, directions on box it comes in---just lift up the little tab on the suction cup to move it to another
ruler

You can also find them at Harbor Freight for around $7, they are for getting out of bathtubs but are the same idea and do work.

I'm always so afraid of getting cut when using the rotary cutter. Thanks so much for posting...will look into purchasing both these items.

Trust me cutting yourself with your rotary cutter hurts - BIG TIME!! I have nerve damage from it! I've gotta get me one of these.

Harbor Freight has the same thing much cheaper---a big one with two cups and a small one with one cup

I was on my way to tell you this when this post caught my eye... i bought 2 handles for my 2 bathrooms and discovered that i liked having 2 handles on the tub... from there they went to the rulers and now i use them for both jobs...
