Ruler problem with Gypsy Gripper
I received 2 Gypsy Grippers (Little Gripper and In-Between Gripper) for Christmas. Since I already own the large one and use it all the time, I figured these smaller suction devices would come in handy to use on my 4 and 6 inch square rulers--WRONG!!! I have tried several times to attach it to some of them and they just won't grip. I think it may have something to do with the thickness of the ruler. Has anyone experienced this? I need them since I took a "chunk" of my index finger off and have several projects left to cut. Anyone??? Advice please!

Try to wash the suction cups and ruler with dish soap and cold water.
There might be some dust or grease that's preventing it from sticking.
If that doesn't work there is something wrong with those grippers.
I'd return them to the store.
Edit: Ok, I just googled and read that you're supposed to lock them.
Did you do that? And I think the little purple one is only for templates.
Here's the website.

Both my little grippers and my big grippers stick like glue. Beside the ones I use to help in cutting fabric, I have a big gripper on the tile wall in one of my showers, and my son used one of the little ones t o pull a dent out of the truck fender! Talk about suction!

I have the bigger one. I generally only use my Olfa frosted 6 X 24" ruler. I found that the gripper wouldn't stay attached to my ruler. I cleaned the ruler, cleaned the suction cups, moistened the suction cups and applied pressure to the gripper before locking it onto my ruler. It would still come off! I may have needed a smaller one because I found that the ends were generally covering the lines on the my ruler that I wanted to use for cutting and measuring. I took it off and I thought I would store it on the side of my sewing cabinet. I couldn't get it to stay stuck there either!!!! I didn't pay alot for it as I found it on a clearance table at a LQS.
