Have any of you had this problem?

I was just triming the borders of my latest quilt with my 6" x 24" ruler when I noticed it seemed to be slightly thinner from 1" to about 6"s. I think it has been worn away after using it for the past few years to rotary cut fabric. Now I know what my latest Joann's coupon is going for.

I've noticed some wear on a couple of mine too. One of them (my favorite) I've not been able to find to replace. It is square on one end and comes to a 45* angle on the other end. I love it because it is a very manageable size.

I haven't had that problem with any of mine. That could really mess up your cuts!

This makes me want to go check mine out for wear. Thanks for the heads up.

If it is 8" wide, it was probably the Miterite ruler from Holiday Designs; mine has the date 1984 on it! Loved that ruler when I first started quilting; wonder why I got away from using it? Gotta but it back on the ruler caddy.

Some of my rulers seem to have a micro-bit shaved off along the middle of them as well after years of use.

Time to replace the ruler when it gets scratched and chipped.

Mine is an O"Lipfa ruler model # 22245--longest edge 14". I still use it for simple 5" width cuts. And no I haven't found it again.
FYI This summer I found on similar--a Clearview Ruler Model # 03645--black on one side; yellow on the other--6" wide and longest edge 12". I should've put some of that vinyl no slip on the one side as my markings are starting to wear off already.

That's because they no longer make the same ruler. They do make on similar tho. The lines on it are different. Do a search. You'll find many sites carry the new ruler...and it's got the same model number, just different lines. Thing is most sites are still using the photo from the old ruler design.

After I said I couldn't find one, I thought I probably hadn't looked online. I did find one by googling o'lipfa (that is the brand of mine, too). It wasn't a place I've ordered from before, but I'll probably order a couple to replace mine. They had a lot of tools with lots of different brands. Here where I found it:

Thanks feather and bj. This is such a handy size and I used the 45 degree cut all the time.
