My grandson runs races. I would like to make him a quilt, but can't find anything to use. Any suggestions?

I don't get that people feel obliged to make quilts so specific. Maybe start a little simpler. Find out his color preferences and go from there. I am sure whatever you offer will be special.

Old track mom and quasi official here. Does he run for his school/team or as an independent? Find sport fabric for runners can be difficult, and near impossible if the kid is a fielder. I would recommend doing something in team/school colors. No matter how ugly the school colors might be (any ours were UGLY) the kids were drenched in them.

I will be watching this one....I have an order for a quilt using a marathon runner's aprons. They are paper, so I am copying them to fabric, but was looking for fabric with something to do with running and have had no luck so far.

I just looked through all 34 pages of novelty fabric and 22 pages of sport fabric on ebay....NOTHING for runners. Now if he was into fly fishing, bicycling, snow boarding - you name it, it is there. BUT, nothing to do with running. :-(

Steven is more of a marathon runner. He is home schooled.
