Welll, my new 730 is here! Here name is Sadie (Saydee). Was offered a great deal at the Lancaster Quilt Show, and although I tried to resist, DH said it was too good a deal to pass up. I had been wishing for the 9 mm decorative stitches, and thinking to upgrade to a 640 sometime this year, but the deal on the 730 was so good and so many additional nice things like an automatic thread cutter...well, I am only human  I didn't want to cut my dealer out, and when I said so, turns out the dealer at the show is his uncle, so he allowed the sale to go to my dealers credit. Today I took my 440 in and exchanged it. Now I need to learn this new machine. The next mastery class isn't until end of May, but hope I can at least figure out the basics before that! It is so cool! I can personalize the welcome screen...and...oh gosh! Sooo much!
Will send pics once I get her situated.
Sorry so long, just really excited!

Thanks! I think that it will be unreal what it can do once I figure it all out!

It took me a while with my 440 before I wasn't afraid I would break it  so, I think it will take awhile for this one too cause Sadie has an onboard computer! It makes music when it starts up and when you make selections it makes a noise like a cricket 8-) I talk to my machines, now this one comes pretty close to talking to me....guess I will have to be careful what I say to her

I have a 630e and yes it beeps when I select stitches and stuff. I debated on getting the 640 but didn't know of that larger 9mm stitch foot would make it harder for the 1/4" seams for quilting. Let me know what you discover!!

I was concerned about that, but I always start with a piece of scrape for a leader which they said helps and the instruction manual tells you to use the little plastic spacer thingy it comes with to level it out on both sides when stitching close to the edge as you would do when topstitching along the edge of collar. I will let you know. I do know you still use the same 1/4 inch foot that you use with the 440. I have tried out the decorative stitches (there are hundreds) and they are definitely much nicer than the 5mm on my 440. It is amazing how much difference a few mm's makes.

Thanks everyone for sharing my joy and excitement. It makes it even more special to be able to share it all with you. :)
