Default What would you quilt in this block

Hi Everyone, ok so I received lots of excellent help on how to quilt using a fleece backing. Thanks everyone. But now I'm stuck. I planned what I was going to do with the triangles and the embroidered block, but for the life of me I can't figure what to quilt in the other block. Here is a pic of what I'm working on...Please don't look close at the quilting lol..first time doing feathers hummmm not great. thanks for any suggestions.

I think I would just quilt in the ditch so not to detract from the embroidery blocks!!!!!

I agree, just quilt in the ditch. There are many other feature details and Something more fancy would probably detract from the feathers and embroidery. Looks beautiful, BTW!

since you already have feathers, you could try this http://quiltingstencils.com/cornerforbr-1.aspx
or this http://quiltingstencils.com/cornermotif1-55.aspx

I think SITD and half feathers? Can you use the seam on the edge of the block for a feather spine and do a half feather towards the coloured squares and then SITD the coloured squares? Use the tablecloth clear plastic over the quilt top and a dry erase marker to audition the designs to see what will work. I think your feathered wreaths look awesome on your beautiful quilt.

Thanks everyone for all the nice things said about my quilt. Oh I love that stencil site although my pocket book might not lol. I'm taking in all the suggestions, and also using a clear plastic to draw out some designs to see what might work. Keep up the suggestions. Once can never have enough of those.

The use of the clear plastic is a great help. I was wondering what your back looked like. Will the quilting show on there? If so, what secondary quilting pattern can you do to compliment the feathered wreaths you have done? Are you using a purple thread on your feathers or is that the marking?

I like the stencil ideas that QuiltnNan suggested. If you center the point in the center of the block and they would make kind of a frame around your wreaths.

See how Wendy Sheppard quilted something similar...http://ivoryspring.wordpress.com/201...ng-machine-41/. She probably has other examples that might be useful. This is just one. She's so talented!
