Ioftheneedle, you are very welcome. Please share with us whatever you actaully make. Whatever the pattern, sailboats can make delightful quilts.

    Default sailboat

I was looking for something else and came across a pattern I made. Perhaps this would work for you.

I did this one as one single block. I had some cute cotton moire fabric in white for the sails, some brown/blue swirly stuff for the boat bottom and then did the whole background in a dark blue mottled batik. I'd post a picture if I could. (don't bother sending me instructions--------this computer will NOT post pics.)

In fact, the little quilt was supposed to go somewhere, but the colors matched my couch so well that it's staying with me.

Wow, thank you! I love light houses and boats and nautical! And a fairly simple pattern!

GrannieAnnie, enjoy it! I call this one Midnight Sail. Lots of rather simple designs work really well.

If you are still looking for a sailboat quilt..a boardmember here made a gorgeous sailboat quilt out of baby clothes and flannel. I tried to make a link but it didnt work. The person who made it is called buzzinbumble and if you do a search of posts the title of her post was 'sailboat quilt made using baby clothes and flannel.
Maybe someone else knows how to do a link and will do so for you.

I've done this one....but since I've not finished it, I've not taken a picture of it yet. It's on my list of quilt tops to finish up this year!
