I really want a Joann's here. Oh well, let us know what kind of goodies you get.
Will have to take a field trip to the city to see what goodies I might need.
OMG SO cheap! You guys are SO lucky. Fabric is so expensive here in the UK.
Am singing to the famous tune.......I wanna live in America, I wanna live in America, Fabric so cheap in America LA LA LA LA LA LA America!!
I find that many quilters are turning to find deals on fabric whereever they can, like JoAnn's or even Walmart.
The fabric shops, a lot of the material is upwards of $9 to $10 a yard now. I can remember back when my grandmother was teaching my sister and I to sew, the material was $.57 a yard. We thought it was outrageous when it hit $1.00 a yard.
What do you pay in the UK?
Its minumum £8 ($12) a METRE in my LQS. And that is for plain, no pattern, no brand, non designer cotton fabric.Originally Posted by Mountainquilter

Wow, I guess that does make it expensive for a hobby.
You must save all your scraps too?
I have gone out into my own designs and am trying to do some art quilts from my photographs.
What kind of quilts do you like to make, traditional? art?
I will be there! I didn't get any flyer!
