Ok, I was going to do the green Amish diamond quilt next but now I have changed my mind.... I designed a sampler quilt I want to do. It is going to be a big challenge because it has alot of the triangles and shapes I still have issues with but I am going to face the fear head on. I am going to take my time so it may be awhile before I finish it. I may even attempt to quilt as I go. Don't know, I have big ideas but they could change if I get discouraged....lol. Anyway here is a pic of the layout and the colors I want to use.

I am going to use the burgandy or maroon whatever it is for the sashing around the blocks, then use the heart country print for the squares to connect the sashing, then I am going to incorporate the other colors in the actual blocks. Hubby helped pick out the colors too. Anyway wish me luck.

It's going to be a beautiful quilt. Great fabric!

Just remember to read the directions. Measure twice and cut once. Sew carefully. Iron your seams. Before you know it you'll have a quilt!

Oh, and if you have questions don't hesitate to ask. We're here to help. It's all practice for the heirloom we've all got planned to do someday!

You'll have fun and learn a lot making your sampler.

I am so glad to see you used graph paper to plan the quilt. That is the way I learned to plan quilts. I hope you also learn to draft patterns. It is a valuable skill for a quilter.

I like your fabric choices. Is there one you plan to use in all the blocks? Can't wait to see it going. You'll have to post pics as you go. Good luck!

That's a great idea! I love the colors and the fact that you're using some prints! You go girl!! That large print might lend itself to fussy cutting so that the squares all look even and spaced right.

Love your fabric. Can't wait to see the quilt. I admire anyone who can design their own patterns. I have to see a picture and have a pattern before I can do it--and even have trouble with that sometimes.lol
