Default Fabric at Walmart

I am not sure if anybody cares about this anymore, but I made a trip to a Walmart here in NJ that had fabric in the past. Had a conversation with the lady there and told me that Walmart has heard loud and clear that people want fabric departments. Over 700 stores are getting fabric departments back and many in NJ/PA who had their departments cut back or closed are revamping back up.

Dont get your hopes to high, our store brought back about a fourth of what it had before, and its lower quality and higher priced.

The Walmart super store in Chino Hills, California never closed it's fabric section. Yes, the quality of some of the fabric is NOT worth the price but isn't that happening at JAF too????

Our Walmart brought back their fabric department however it is much smaller than before. The quality of their fabric at this store has greatly improved over what it used to be.

My Wal-Mart now has fabric for the first time. Not much of a selection and noone to cut it, of course...

Our local WalMart never got rid of their fabric dept. I have purchased almost all of my fabric there and have been very happy wi th it. We are lucky that we have quite a selection.
The other WalMarts around the area are just now getting fabric back. They are o.k., not as great as my local one but it may take time for them to accumulate the fabrics.

Hi DixieLee,
The closest Walmart to me is in Boonton and it has a pretty extensive fabric department. Lucky for me because NJ is
sorely lacking Quilt shops or fabric sellers

Went shopping with my neice for fabric for a quilt and was disappointed at the lack of good fabric variety. We ended up going to Joann's to find what we needed. Was sad to see they had so little selection. Earlier in the year it had seemed to be better.

We now have one but its sooo small that its not even funny I think they are doing this to prove a point lol I dont think they wanted to bring it back but if they dont make money on it its because the selection is poor!!!
