Unhappy Guess I've joined the 'club'

I just sewed through my finger- ouch. At least I missed the nail and didn't bleed all over the quilt, the most important thing! LOL. Guess I'll stay away from the machine for a day or so. That's what I get for hurrying.

So sorry you had to join our club. Hope your finger is better soon. You are right, not bleeding on the quilt is important
Is your Tetanus shot up to date (old ER nurse here)

I was working on a silk organza wedding dress when I really did it. Darn Elna will sew through anything so the needle was embedded far into the bone. Everyone was asleep, so I had to work the needle out with my other hand and wake my husband up with a needle on one side and a pair of pliers on the other. Soak your finger in warm soapy water twice a day. Works wonders.

I've sewn through a little skin since taking up quilting, but no more bones, thank goodness.

OUCH! It sure makes you realize the power behind a simple sewing machine doesn't it?

It's not really a club we want to join but at one time or another most of us do. Mine got the nail too. hope your finger heals quickly so you don't go through sewing withdrawals. that's the worst part.

That's one of those things in my 50+ years of sewing that I've never done. And now I hope I haven't jinxed myself!
