Scrap Quilts

I can't visualize the pattern or effect that you had in mind. More importantly, you have to find an arrangement that suits you and not worry about anything else. The fact that you are spending your valuable and limited free time speaks volumes for how much you care and no one will criticize your efforts. I think it is beautiful just as it is. I like the scrappy look--I also like the way all of your colors go so well together. I know for a fact that I am my own worst critic, and have a tendency to be unhappy with my final effort in spite of all the nice compliments that I recieve. Possibly you have caught the same bug that I have and that is why you sound worried about the final result. But I think it looks great and the baby is darling too.

Hi Boo:
Can you tell me where the Scrap Quilt Challenge pictures are suppose to be posted? I went all through the pictures thread and saw LOTS of scrap quilts but didn't see where there is a thread for the Scrap Challenge for 2008. Thank you for any help you can give.

Feathers, here is the page I started for the 2008 Quilt Challenge, where everyone who participates is supposed to try to use just what they already have, whether it is scraps or stash in general.

Thank you Quiltmaker, I was already at the site once or twice this morning and didn't realize that is what or where I was looking to be. I'll have to post my scrap quilts on that thread so I can participate in the challenge. I appreciate your help. Thank you.

I enjoy making scrap quilts. Yesterday I started a crumb quilt. At the moment I have the first 37 blocks that I"m working on. I am making them all 5" square. I have other 5" blocks to go with them. Trevor really likes how they are looking and would like a scrap quilt made out of the crumbs blocks for the bed. so the dining room table right now is COVERED in fabrics and crumbs. I have never made crumbs blocks before and I"m absolutely loving it! I was up til 2am sewing them up and watching movies last night! I'm figuring I might need 60 of these blocks to make the design I want to do.
After this one, I have so many scraps I might need to make another one! Hey its a great way to use up all those little pieces that are taking up room for newer and bigger pieces LOL

I think the scrap challenge is a great idea and I, too, am anxious to see what everyone does. It should be lots of fun and I'm glad you are joining in.
I've never heard of a "crumb" quilt....is that the same as what we see being called "charm" quilts with little tiny pieces? Hurry and post a picture. Can't wait to see it!

Here I am answering my own message.
I have completely "scrapped" the idea I had earlier about how to piece the Noah's Ark quilt for my grandson. It just had no "zip" to it. I put it away for a year and he is nearly old enough to need it now. He will be one very soon.
I need to go back to the files somewhere and figure out how to delete the photos I have online and put my new version up there. I feel much better about all the changes.
GramMER to 17 now...
A new baby girl was born April 26th and I have no idea what kind of quilt to make for her. Her mama is so talented and has almost finished a Joan Walsh Anglund cross stitch on Hardanger squares inset into an Irish chain quilt for her. It is beautiful, so what can I do???
