scrappy binding on jelly roll quilt

I changed my mind at the last minute on the binding of this quilt. I had planned to go with the blue of the last border, but decided to try to use up the rest of the strips from my jelly roll. There weren't enough of any one fabric, so I just cut them in 14 inch segments and put them in the same order they were in the quilt. I have never done a scrappy border before, but I think this looks pretty good.

What do you think? Did I make the right decision? The binding is a bit hard to see, but maybe you can get the sense of it.

I think it is great! I did a scrappy binding on a quilt before and I loved how it turned out! Good way to use up those orphan strips and keep the theme of the fabrics used! Nice job!

Ditto, it looks beautiful. Thanks for posting the picture, I think I'll have to try it.

Thanks. I may have to make a scrappy binding again. It really looks much better than I thought it would!

I think I may start doing scrappy bindings on my scrappy charity quilts. Why not? I have plenty of strips already cut.
