    If you use good strong thread and a close stitch length, there is no reason to stitch seams twice. With heavier fabrics like denim you would use bigger, stronger thread and needle, but still only stitch once. Stitching twice is a waste of time and thread.

    Once. But on my current quilt one area of the border had a smaller seam allowance (due to operator error) so I sewed that part of the seam 3 times (one up, one back, one up).

    Fior some charity quilts, depending on the group the quilts are being made for, I stitch twice. Otherwise, once, with the exception of when I make a mistake.

    Just once. If you do a double stitched seam and then need to rip....that would be a disaster.
