Default Secure and Trim or Bury?

Just wondering if you bury all of your loose threads or just secure them and trim them off? Thanks

it depends---and it's your choice---what ever works well for you- when long-arm quilting i start out tiny stitches in place then take off- (with top & bobbin thread on the top) then trim even with the quilt surface after a few stitches.
when piecing i backstitch to secure any seams that will not be crossed over with other stitching.
if hand quilting i start out taking a couple small backstitches- but then i do tie off & bury ends.

I take one stitch, pull the bobbin thread to the top, tie a knot and bury the threads and knot using one of the needles you don't have to thread. Doing a couple of stitches in place leaves a knot on the back of the quilt with my machine. This process adds a little extra time to my quilting but I feel secure that the stitching is never going to come out.

If it's an heirloom quilt, I tie off and bury the knots. If it's just a regular long-armed quilting job, I stitch in place a few stitches and then cut the threads. I've never had a problem with either method.

I knot and bury my thread with an easy thread needle.

It depends. If I can secure it without it being seen, i will do that and then just clip. If it will show, front or back, i will tie off by hand with easy thread needle.
