What is your favorite solid black fabric? I use lots of very bright colored fabrics with black surrounding them. I still haven't found the perfect black fabric to use. I want something with a good "hand" (smooth to touch), very black, black (not blue tinged, or green) and something not thick and heavy. I'd love to find a sateen. I saw a Michael Miller solid black on Saturday at a LQS in San Antonio, thought it looked good but decided to ask here before buying.

Kona was used in the background of my avatar. I prefer it to others for solid black.

Someone recently posted that the Michael Miller Jet Black is the truest black they have ever found. Hancocks of Paducah has it on order, I think. I got Kona black (made by Kaufmann) from Hancocks but do not care for the hand (seems like broadcloth to me, but I don't really understand what broadcloth is so I could be wrong), so I am thinking of trying the Michael Miller black.

Michael Miller all the way for me. I became a fan when I switched to his brown - now you couldn't drag me back! :)
