bernina embroidery artlink 1 or 6?

bernina embroidery artlink 1 or 6?
I have a bernina 440qe. I just purchased the embroidery module. It came with software artlink 1. Now I see artlink 6 has come out. Other than the need for a dongle, what new features exist in 6? Am I loosing any features (I know embroidering of alphabet is missing in 6). And I cannot find information on versions 2 thru 5.

Artlink 6 does not need a dongle. It is just for sending designs to your machine so you can embroider them. The software that requires the dongle are software packages that you purchase. Artlink 6 can probably be downloaded from berninausa.com. You can also get information about the software you purchase.

Are you possibly confusing Artlink with Artista Designer? Artlink is a nice free little program for converting formats, simple editing (combining designs and changing colors). Artista Designer (which currently is in version 6) is a full-fledged digitizing program and is expensive. It also has a dongle with it which Artlink does not. I have the Designer softer and I just love it, but I digitize a lot of designs myself.
