Has anyone had any luck selling quilt tops anywhere on the web? Be it finished or unfinished, I so enjoy the process of making the quilt, but really, do I need another one!!!

I sold a couple of quilt tops on ebay but only got enough to cover the fabric and ebay fees.

Do you have a reasonable longarmer in your area or just so many quilts you have no space? I'm wondering myself when this is going to happen to me..

People generally underestimate the cost of the material in a quilt top let alone adding in for all the time and effort/love put in it.

For me: it would hurt too much to sell it and have people think so little of it that they offer lowball prices.

Instead, I do charity quilting for my quiltying groups.

My church had the Prayers and Squared program [you can look it up on the web] where lap quilts are made for those in need of comfort.

The nearby church has a very large group of women called Reap What You Sew where we make all sizes of quilts for othere. angel wraps go to the neonatal intensive care as those babies are so small ... and for some it is their burial wrap andf it shows love. The board of the group gets requests each year and then decides how many quilts go to each group. they also respond to emergency request.

My guild does quilts for children with special needs in the foster care system.

All these are tax deductible while giving me the opportunity to continue to quilt. A double blessing, if you will.

I am a longarmer!! My customer quilts come first. Mine are on the shelf waiting but I am in no rush since I have no where for them to go.

there is a place in canada...called "quilts for sale" they have a pretty good program for you to sell your quilts, finished or not, and prices seem to range from $45----up to a couple thousand, so they have quite a variety.
if you finish the quilts (quilted and bound) you will get 3-5 times as much as you would just for a top, and tops are harder to sell...people want finished products...unless of course they are quilters...
good luck
