I had checked out the Atlanta Thread Company now renamed WaWak as recommended here and requested a catalog which they did send me about a month ago and have procrasinated ordering and glad I waited because this morning I received an email that there serger thread has an additional 20% off until the end of August making the 3000 yards Maxi-Lock spools only $1.59 instead of $1.99. All retail stores sell this same thread for $4.59 or higher depending where you look. So those of you who love Maxi-Lock may want to check this out before th end of this month and place your order.

I'm not sure of the brand that is sold at my local Walmart, but that is a thread I would stay away from. I bought a cone to see what it's like as I live a ways from the nearest JoAnn's. It was really bad weak, uneven thread. Thank goodness I only bought one cone. Back to my MaxiLock

Maxi-lock! When I took my serger in to be serviced, the repairman had replaced two of my spools (another brand) with the Maxi-lock.

Nancy Z has a book on using your serger to quilt with. It has some nice things in it.
