Fry the chicken, we prefer boneless, skinless chicken breast.

Fire up the waffle iron, melt butter, bring on the syrup. Put it all together on the plate, bite of buttery, syrup and waffle, bite of chicken. Wash down with black coffee. Yummy.

I gotta say that when I travel south of the Mason Dixon line my favorite breakfast is biscuits and gravy. I've even had "true" chicken and dumplings. But have not tried chicken and gravy over waffles. I'm traveling in two weeks to Virginia ... mmmm might have to see what I can find!

Born and raised in the woods of the south I was taught how to make any food taste good by having excellent gravy as a side.
White gravy is for breakfast meals and brown gravy is for supper meals. Chicken gravy is made with pieces of chicken skin battered, fried golden brown and crispy, chopped up and added to the brown gravy. White gravy, has crumbles of sausage or bacon mixed in. Always made in big cast iron skillet.

My sweet man had never had breakfast gravy until he moved to indiana. He's from Pa and his parent were born and raised there. He's never had dumplings either, or sugar cream pie. I tell you he lived a sheltered life. But on the flip side, I'd never had pigs in a blanket(yuk hate cabbage) or some ravioli dish with mash potato inside instead of meat, YUK. Now I'm gonna try the chicken and gravy. You can put gravy on cardboard and its good! Gravy is good on everything! I used to make chocolate gravy!MMMM!

I've never had chicken and waffles but I sew almost every night after dinner. My husband gets on the computer and I go in my sewing room. I love my husband but with both of us retired I definitely need to go to separate rooms after a while.

OMG...we LOVE chicken and waffles. It's a PA Dutch/German thing. No syrup on this...just delicious chicken gravy. My mother used to make this...comfort food...all of the time with leftover chicken.

I have to admit that I get lazy and have used frozen waffles. It's still good but not as good as right off the waffle iron.

If you go to Lancaster County in PA a lot of places serve it.

As far as breakfast gravy...I don't like sausage gravy but then I'm not a big sausage lover. But I do love creamed dried beef over toast. I can eat that for breakfast, lunch or dinner. YUM!

I like sausage gravy over waffles. I used to anyway. I have been diagnosed with Diabetes. There goes my waffle, pancake, pasta and potato days!

Oh, I can have a small amount at a meal, but I love my starches! Oh, yeah, Ice Cream is limited too! HORRORS! LOL
