Kathie, I'm also looking for a new machine. I went to the dealer last weekend and they were pushing the Viking 875Q. I asked about the Janome 7700 and was redirected to the Viking. The next day, I went to another dealer and looked at the Janome and was very impressed.

Just curious, what is it about the Vikings that may be causing you to look at another brand?

I have bought 4 vikings since 1995 and they have all burnt out. I sew about 8 hours every day as I am retired. I have an old Janome that still works so I thought I coulod get a great Janome.

To Melinda in Tulsa, thanks for the web site-I looked thru it all and now I don't know what to do. It was interesting to see the different takes on all the machines. The Janome I was looking at (3160) doesn't seem to be that good for quilting.
