I need some help, people. I'm hoping to be able to "swing" a new sewing machine and price wise, the Brother's look like what I might be able to afford. Ebay has several, but my question is this. I'm looking at the SQ9000RF and the
CS6000i. What do the numbers mean and does anybody know which one is better, or do you have any other ideas. I can't afford much, under 200, so pretty limited. Thank you

I love my Brothers (have two)-have you looked at Brother.com to see what each is capable of doing and what the features are of each? I found Amazon.com had the best price on my PC420 Project Runway and free shipping, plus no sales tax! I know I have seen the CS6000i on sale for $199.00, which seems a great price (I think Joann's had it at that price). I paid 450.00 for my PC420, but it still was cheaper than anywhere else-add to that free shipping and NO sales tax-that saved a bunch, too. Check out Amazon.com before buying on E-bay-shipping costs can be expensive!!

I just checked Amazon.com--they have a CS6000i for $162.54 and FREE shipping. Also, no sales tax!

Type both those models into the search at the top of this page. Several people have debated between those two and you'll see lots of good/bad points.

I ended up getting the 9000 from Amazon and have been pleased with it. SQ is for sewing/quilting.

Ebay had the SQ9000RF for 169.99, no shipping and the CS 6000i for 177. I'm not buying for a couple of weeks, just really wanted some of the AWESOME opinions on this site,. I'll keep pricing. THANKS.,.,

I am in the market to buy a new Janome and I don't know what to buy. I sew quilts everyday and I have been thru 4 Vikings since 1995 so I am going to try Janome as that is what I started out with in 1990. A ny advice from my fellow quilters will be very much appreciated.

There are several listings on Amazon.com for the same model of machine-not all are the same price. It pays to check them all before making the decision.

I purchased my Brother's embroidery machine off a site called allbrands.com for almost $1,000 less than all the other sites. Check out this site before you buy. Also, check out Walmart.com...their sewing cabinets that I was looking at are only $119 compared to $189 and $199 on ebay AND if you do the ship to store, the shipping is free!
