Default Sewing machine cover . . . I need a pattern.

I'd like to make a cover for my sewing machine to keep the dust off. Does anyone have a pattern?

I have a pattern that I purchased years ago at my LQS, also have one I purchased from Ebay for my featherweights. There are alot out there and alot of them are free. Just do a search for sewing machine cover pattern and I think you will be agle to find what you are looking for. Good luck have fun and happy sewing.

I just measured my machine and then cut 2 ends that would cover it and cut a straight piece of fabric that would fit up and over the machine and then quilted these pieces and sewed them together. I had to make a couple cuts for wires, but that was easy. I cut and then folded back the edges and stitched. Hope that helps. If you want something more interesting you could piece the cover first.

I also was looking on the internet for one a few days ago. I also need to make actually two. I found some different ones, but at the moment couldn't find my patterns, but one lady said she measured hers by how tall, and how wide, and then the piece that would go over the sides and top, and she added 2 inches to those measurements so it would fit loose enough when she went to put it over her machine. I haven't made one so I don't know how exact that is. I hope you find one that will work for you.

I saw an idea for a machine cover, maybe on QB? You get one of the very large fabric like grocery bags that fits over your machine. You put it down over your machine and fold up the extra length to the outside and pin. You cut off the handles and stich pocket lines up the fold up portion around the bag. The bag then is put back down over the machine and the pockets the extra fabric created on the outside are for your foot control, cord etc. Quick, handy and easy enough for me.

I take an old t-shirt lay it flat, cut across the chest, this gets the arm holes, turn right sides together, stitch across, and viola put it over your machine.
