I just noticed the boring plastic dust cover on my sewing machine. What do you cover your sewing machine with? Are there any cute and free patterns out there with a quilting theme?

I took apart one of the plastic ones and made my own pattern from it.

I think maybe you could take some measurements, figure out what size block would fit, and work it from there. Add borders until you reach the appropriate size/shape, and you're in business! Best of luck.

Here are 7 free patterns that are some of the better looking I've seen. I like the one from Spool because my machine is married to it's extension table so I just need a mini-cover (you know, short like a mini-skirt) that fits the part above the table. http://www.favecrafts.com/Home-Decor...achine-Covers# There are lots of other free patterns if you don't like these.

I love this board! Such clever ideas offered and quick links so I can spend more time sewing! Yes, my Janome is married to the table also, so all I need is a mini also! Thank you everyone.

I just used strips to make a rectangle, cut it to fit around the extension table and sewed some binding on. I'm no good at binding inside corners so just put a button there .

There are no ties or fasteners, it just slips on and when its off the machine it fits nicely over the back of my sewing chair!

And yes, it is reversible - did not have matching fabric so its all roses!

Guess my point is - you don't need a pattern!

Easy to store on my chair!
