My grandma was making a queen size quilt for me before she passed away years ago. well it still needs to be binded and quilted together. I found a person here in town that does this and will charge me $70 to quilt and $60 to do the binding=$130. Just wondering if anyone knows if this is a good price or not? Has anyone paid someone else to do the quilting for them?
    thanx

To me that is a good price. I had a twin done for 80.00 four years ago and I had to do the binding myself.

That sounds like a great price!
I'd also ask if the person has references so you can see what type of work they do

Great deal from where I stand.

My long arm quilter charges $75+ for a lap quilt and that doesn't include the binding.

Just think of the treasure that you'll have once it's done.

Great thanx for the info!! I thought it didn't sound to bad but I wasn't really sure. The lady had some pics on the web to show some of her work. She was a seamstress for years and now her husband and her do boat interiors, etc but bought a long arm quilter because of the need in our area for the service. I emailed her and she responded right away and asked questions and then quoted me the prices and said i could save the e-mail as my quote.

Sounds like a great price to me!!

Is she including the price of the batting or do you provide that? Do you have to make the binding or just provide the fabric?

Great price. I just paid over $200 for the long arm quilting alone, and I did the binding myself!!

Ask to see her quilting first. You get what you pay for..... the price may be good, but that's about right for a really open meander, and I do mean open.
