Thread: Sewing Machine Model Number - numbering systems

Is there a rhyme or reason to how sewing machine models are numbered?

Bernina - for some reason unknown to me - has duplicated some numbers -

Ummmmm........ In a word, no. I hate that Bernina did that and have no idea why. They ran out of numbers???

Singer also couldn't leave well enough alone with the Featherweight name. They just ***had*** to use it again.
