I have been reading every ones' posts about their sewing room and wanted to add mine. It is still in progress (using the formal LR/DR area), but I wanted to show my new treasures.

I found two cubbies (approx 5 ft x 5 ft) at a thrift store and my new cutting (dining) table at the clearance center of a furniture store. My DH added some wooden bed risers (found at Bed, Bath & Beyond) to the legs of the table to raise it up. I plan to use the cubbies as a room divider as well

I also saved our old dining room table for my sewing machines. Just waiting for my new desk to move my computer.

I wonder why anyone would want a formal dining room or living room! The only house we had with a formal living room, it never was used except the cat stayed in it. I quit having formal dinners years ago, too much work and who cares? If I need to host a formal dinner I'll haul everyone to the nearest banquet room.

I'm with you Bella Boo, we live in our living room LOL and have my sewing on the dining room table. We go to the nearest resturant if there is more than three of us. My cutting table, ironing board, and cupboards are off the dining in the laundry room so everything is really handy. My DH had a carpenter come in and build the cupboards for me as he hated seeing all the tores sitting around with fabric in them.
