There is no right or wrong answer as long as it holds together and you're happy.
If it was mine, I would want borders on all the blocks and the green and red trees block does jump out at me. I had to look again to see the other two blocks without borders.
Is the intended recipient likely to care?

Yes, I agree. Maybe it is the lack of a frame that is throwing off the design.

If the colors are showing true, and that block is indeed brighter and more "Christmassy" in tone, I think I would also change it out.
As for having the three blocks that are not square in a square, I am good with that, as I like a little change up here and there in my quilts sometimes. I might separate the two that are touching a little more though.

v I do believe that it will all be well once you have quilted it and washed it a few times. When in doubt, I find it best to either add more of the questionable fabric, or remove it. Howsomeever, I find your composition to be quite pleasant and acceptable as photographed and needing no revisions.
