I would go for the road trip too. I have the 2500 and love it. I think if I remember correctly that the 4000 cut your jump stitches on the embroidery. You'll love that feature!

I said a prayer last night, asked the Lord to make it easier to get it here if it was the machine for me...got a phone call this am...and they are willing to drive it here themselves! Now I am sold! LOL! I have the brother 900D right now and absolutely love it, so I KNOW I am going to love this one! Thanks for all the great advice!

Oh my goodness! It does sound like this was meant to be, so I hope it works out for you. Sounds like you got it at a great price, too. Merry Christmas to you!

I have a Brother 4000D and I love it. It is so user friendly. It was a very expensive machine and if I were you I think the road trip would be worth it in the end. It would be pretty expensive to get it shipped as it is not a light machine. Good luck with whatever you decide.

Road trip!!!!! I would never buy it without trying it if buying from an individual that I didn't know. You might just avoid some potential problems caused by shipping...or find out that you don't care for the machine before you buy it!

I think I would make the trip so I could see it in person.

If the price is right....take the trip and try it out. It may just be a blessing for you.
