I bought myself a Christmas present on Black Friday. Now I can't decide if I should keep it or take it back. I wonder if anyone out there has used one of these and can tell me if it is worth it or just a waste of money!!
I don't think I introduced my self. I am from East Grand Forks Minnesota which is just a hop and a skip from the Canada border.
When my kids were little I sewed quite a bit but the grandkids need the "brand name stuff" except for customs. I have gotten into quilting with my mother. She is 88 and has sewn all her life. She can't stand to cut any more so I do that and she does most of the sewing. I have sewn a couple and do enjoy it.
Thanks in advance for any information you can share in regard to the rotary cutter
Kay

I want a rotary cutter that feels good in my hand, and has a safety on it that is easy to use. There are many brands/styles available, but if it doesn't feel comfortable to you, it will be harder to use and may even hurt your wrist.

I guess I didn't make myself clear. it is electric and cuts strips from 1/2 inch to 2&1/2 inches. I am really into the strip quilting. Makes pretty tops easy and they are easy for my mom to sew

Sorry I misunderstood (was with all the kids and grandkids all day and I'm a little bit, well, you know.) Anyway, I think the strip cutter is still probably the best money you'll ever spend -- provided it cuts like it should, of course!! :D :D And we all deserve to buy ourselves a little something for Christmas just to make sure we get one thing that we want

Welcome to our board. You will love it here.
I don't have the strip cutter but every time I go to Joanns I find myself looking at it. I think if its cuts wide enough strips it would work. I want to start doing some strip quilting. I will probably end up buying one.

I just got one for Christmas and the binding maker. I'll let you know how well it works because I'm going to try it out tonight. Welcome to the Board. You will enjoy all the wonderful people here.
